Estanislao Serrano Hernández, 17, was driving shortly before 8:20 a.m. on Sunday April 9 on Featherstone Road near Walnut Street when he unexpectedly lost control when he attempted to pass another driver.

Serrano Hernández’s Toyota went off the roadway and directly struck the Testing Technologies Inc. building in the 1200 block of Featherstone Road, rolling over and coming to rest on the roof.

The teen was airlifted to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday night.

Following his untimely death, Serrano Hernandez’s family set up a GoFundMe campaign in an attempt to raise money to get the boy back to El Salvador for a proper funeral.

“I would like to remember my the memory of my little brother Estanislao,” his sister Diana wrote. “My little brother was a 17-year-old boy (who was) very charismatic, full of life, always smiling. (He Was) a person who helped in the house with his nephews.”

Within hours of its creation, the GoFundMe raised more than $2,000 of its stated $15,000 goal.
